New product features for the JAGUAR 1000 forage harvester range

CEMOS AUTO KNIFE CONDITION, live yield mapping and enhanced nutrient analysis with the NUTRIMETER: product innovations for the CLAAS JAGUAR 1000.

The JAGUAR 1000 series was unveiled in September 2025 and awarded a silver medal at Agritechnica for its innovative overall design. With new equipment options, performance and cost-effectiveness have now been further optimised.

The JAGUAR 1000 series comprises four power classes ranging from 850 to 1,110 PS and, thanks to a crop flow width of up to 910 mm with the MULTI CROP CRACKER XL, fully hydraulic pre-compression, the V-FLEX chopping cylinder, and high-performance front-mounted attachments with a tailored, wide crop flow transfer and variable front-mounted drive for ORBIS and PICK UP. The modern chassis design features large tyre diameters s (up to 2.15 m on the front axle), a differential lock for the front and steering drive axles, and a tyre pressure regulation system to ensure maximum soil protection whilst delivering uncompromising traction and load-bearing capacity for front-mounted implements with a working width of up to 12.00 m. The quiet, spacious cab offers maximum comfort and optional joystick steering, whilst a wide range of driver assistance systems optimises the harvesting process and reduces the driver’s workload.

Automatic blade sharpness detection for consistently optimum performance and reduced wear costs

As the first driver assistance system available on the market for monitoring the sharpness of the knives in the forage harvester, CLAAS introduced the new CEMOS AUTO KNIFE CONDITION as a world first for the JAGUAR 900 at Agritechnica 2025. From the 2027 model year onwards, it is now also available for the JAGUAR 1000 series.

The CEMOS AUTO KNIFE CONDITION system monitors the sharpness of the knives on the chopping cylinder, thereby enabling grinding to be carried out as and when required to ensure consistently maximum cutting quality whilst optimising wear and fuel consumption.
The system uses two reluctance sensors, which detect the blade geometry across the entire blade width using a static magnetic field. The sensors are positioned above the chopping cylinder and are therefore outside the material flow.

When working in the field, the driver sets the desired sharpness level and sharpening strategy via the CEBIS terminal in the cab. The system then informs the driver via CEBIS as soon as the knives need sharpening. In this way, sharpening no longer takes place at fixed intervals, but only when it is actually necessary – i.e. sooner under abrasive harvesting conditions, and later under normal harvesting conditions with low wear. Cutting and forage quality, as well as efficiency, remain consistently high, whilst the service life of the knives is significantly improved.

In addition, the system enables area-specific documentation of blade wear in CLAAS connect. Contractors can use this to provide evidence of wear costs to their customers and make targeted improvements to the upstream process chain.

Live yield mapping on the GPS PILOT CEMIS 1200

Another new feature on the JAGUAR 1000 is live yield mapping on the GPS PILOT CEMIS 1200. This allows four process data points – yield per area in fresh weight, optimal moisture content, yield per area in dry matter and dry matter content in per cent – to be displayed live as a map on the JAGUAR and via CLAAS connect on mobile devices, with up to three parameters shown simultaneously. Switching between map layers is quick and straightforward. All data is automatically saved simultaneously in the relevant job and in CLAAS connect, and can be accessed at any time for review and analysis. Furthermore, the data can be exported via TASKDATA for use in other portals.

NUTRIMETER now also features nutrient analysis for nutrient cycles

The latest-generation NUTRIMETER, introduced last year with the JAGUAR 1000 for dry matter and nutrient analysis, can now also measure nutrients such as total nitrogen, ammonium nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus and sulphur during the application of slurry and fermentation substrate, and document these in CLAAS connect. To this end, the NUTRIMETER can be used as a mobile ISOBUS device on application equipment from Garant-Kotte, Samson, Kaweko, Fliegl, Wienhoff and Zunhammer.

The data measured by the NUTRIMETER is displayed during harvest, together with the JAGUAR’s machine data, both on the machine’s CEMIS 1200 terminal and on mobile devices and the office PC. When applying organic fertiliser, the values can be displayed on the ISOBUS terminals of the application equipment, as well as on mobile devices and the office PC. In CLAAS connect, the documented data can later be analysed and exported, for example for invoicing service contracts or for fertiliser planning.

Consistently stable crop flow: Active vibration damping for the ejection elbow

From the year of manufacture onwards, the JAGUAR 1000 is fitted as standard with active vibration damping for the ejection chute, which stabilises the crop stream. This system operates on the basis of an algorithm using data on the chute height (angle sensor) and vertical acceleration (gyroscope and pressure sensor on the chute lift cylinder). Deviations from the setpoints are continuously compensated for by active counter-control via the lifting cylinder, so that vertical movements of the chute are almost completely offset and the crop stream is always precisely aligned with the point of impact in the transport vehicle, regardless of the JAGUAR’s position. This enables higher driving speeds – even across the crop rows – whilst reducing driver fatigue and further optimising the AUTO FILL automatic wagon filling system. Furthermore, dynamic loads on the ejection chute, slewing ring, tower and tower mounting are reduced.

The active vibration damping for the ejection elbow ensures that the crop stream is always precisely aligned, particularly when chopping across the rows and during long-range ‘overhead’ filling.

Start of series production for the ORBIS 12000 and DIRECT DISC 8400

Following a pre-series production run during the 2026 harvest season, CLAAS is now commencing series production of the 16-row ORBIS 12000 and the new DIRECT DISC 8400 direct-cut header. Thanks to its 12-metre working width – which corresponds to 16 maize rows at a row spacing of 75 cm – the ORBIS 12000 enables even more optimal utilisation of the JAGUAR 1000. This also achieves an optimal horsepower-per-row ratio even in the top performance class. In addition, the increased working width reduces the distance travelled during harvesting by 33 per cent compared with the standard 12-row model.

As with the ORBIS 9000 and ORBIS 10500, the cutter and conveyor discs, as well as the feed drums, are driven independently of one another to ensure the best possible chopping quality in all harvesting conditions and chop lengths. Via CEMOS AUTO HEADER, the speeds of the feed discs can be controlled automatically, independently of the two vertical feed cones; the speed is adjusted fully automatically depending on chop length, throughput or forward speed. The driver can also adjust the respective speed manually from the cab, depending on the harvesting situation.

Uncompromising ground tracking is provided by the well-known and tried-and-tested AUTO CONTOUR system. Three sensors detect ground irregularities and automatically adjust the ORBIS 12000 to the preselected working height . As with the ORBIS 10500, two actively controlled stabiliser wheels ensure even more precise ground tracking. In combination with the integrated pendulum frame on the robust pre-compression unit of the JAGUAR 1000, this enables rapid and smooth ground adaptation, ensuring that the working height is maintained at all times, regardless of the topography and forward speed. Thanks to the symmetrical compact folding system, the integrated automatic transport protection and the equally integrated transport chassis, safe road transport with an external width of less than 3.30 m is guaranteed without any set-up times and without the driver having to leave the driver’s seat.

The DIRECT DISC 8400 – with a working width of 8.41 m, the widest direct-cut harvester on the market – is designed for the direct harvesting of whole-crop silage (such as triticale, rye, sorghum, intermixed silphium, etc.) up to a crop height of 4.50 m and operates with two MAX CUT cutter bars, each 4.20 m wide. External drives and a mower disc speed of 3,200 rpm, combined with an efficient, low input speed, guarantee an uncompromising cut even at high working speeds and under difficult harvesting conditions. The quick-change blade system makes replacing worn blades a matter of just a few minutes, whilst the SAFETY LINK module protects the cutter bar from damage caused by contact with foreign objects.

Four ground-contour sensors on the underside ensure optimum ground adaptation both in and across the direction of travel, despite the large working width – with active control of working height and lateral levelling via the pendulum frame on the JAGUAR 1000. Thanks to the AUTO CONTOUR control system, a clean cut is achieved under all operating conditions, even on uneven ground.

The 800 mm diameter feed roller with active hydraulic pre-compression is hydraulically adjustable in height in two stages. Furthermore, the rotational speed can be adjusted in three stages to suit operating conditions, cut length and yield. The optional side separation blades can be operated on one or both sides and swivelled hydraulically into the parking position. The machine can be conveniently switched on and off at the touch of a button from the cab.

Thanks to the mechanical quick-release couplings and the multi-coupler, attachment and detachment are completed quickly, just as with the ORBIS and DIRECT DISC. The automatic implement recognition system transfers all stored settings from the DIRECT DISC 8400 to the JAGUAR, so that the driver can get straight to work after attachment – without time-consuming readjustments of speeds and height settings. For transport, the DIRECT DISC 8400 is placed on and secured to a trailer approved for speeds of up to 40 km/h, fitted with air brakes and a hydraulically lowerable design, featuring a steered rear axle.

In operation, the standard roller press – which is hydraulically height-adjustable from the cab – lays the foundation for a uniform, gentle crop flow right from the moment of cutting on the MAX CUT cutter bar, particularly with tall crops such as sorghum and silphium.
